Makinarium has a very busy year scheduled ahead of us... with the break in filming we are taking this opportunity to build our database of available freelance crew ...and to offer courses for sale to train colleagues that want to add new skills, or newcomers to the industry
that want to start their career in film.
Led by Makinarium film industry veterans, from our workshops at Pinewood Studios...
our Bootcamps are intensive training programs that will give you a glimpse of the film world from inside our team - to learn what it is like to work at the studio, and have real experience of what it takes to work in the film industry!
You will have support from the full Makinarium team to develop your technical knowledge and skills!
The Makinarium team are here to show you what the industry is like from within and to train the next wave of talent to join us on our next adventure!

PROP MAKING INTENSIVE:
ELVIN DAGGER AND INTRODUCTION TO CHAIN MAIL
15TH - 19TH JANUARY 2024
STRICTLY LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE
Spend the week with us in our Workshop at Pinewood Studios
where our crew spend their time fabricating props and set pieces
for the Film and TV industries
You will be led by our supervisor and supported by our crew who have years of experience and credits under their belts.
With a focus on molding and casting this Bootcamp will give you the opportunity
to fabricate your own version of our very popular ‘Eleven Dagger ’, designed and modeled by our Creative Director Jet Cooper.
You’ll learn to mold and cast, paint and art work your Elven Dagger. You will also have the
chance to fabrication your very own chain mail sample out of industry tecquniqes that are used on 100’s of costumes across film and tv.
This Bootcamp is designed to give you an overview of the employable skills that you’ll need in an industry workshop.
5-Day Bootcamp will include:
Spending the week in a professional film industry workshop.
Understanding what a film prop(erty) is: Dressing, action, breakaway etc.
Set and workshop etiquette.
Silicone molding
Casting in a range of materials
Chain mail assembly
Working to a brief
Art working and painting techniques
Use of professional spray booth and compressors
Spraying with a spray gun, airbrush and aerosols
Professional photographs will be taken of your final work so that you can add this
to your social media accounts or add them to your portfolio.
Spaces are limited to under 10 people - to allow time for questions and one on one tuition.
