This is not a craft class. This is not a YouTube tutorial. This is what it actually feels like to build something at one of the world's most iconic film studios — working from a real character design, using the same processes used by the people who build for the screen.
 
You do not design it. You build it. Then you make it yours.
 
THE COURSE
SUIT UP! is a five-day hands-on fabrication course held at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire, running 17–21 August 2026.
 
Makinarium supplies a fully designed original character — a screen-quality armoured hero, created in-house — and your group of 8–10 brings it to life.
You work from the design.
You work the materials.
You work as a crew.
 
Over five days you will cast from 3D printed masters, paint to screen standard, modify pre-supplied components, and finish the piece with your own creative interpretation. When you leave on Friday, something exists that did not exist on Monday.
 
What makes this different is where it happens and how it happens.
You are inside Pinewood Studios, in a professional workshop, surrounded by a team that has built for Disney and major productions you have watched on screen.
 
The skills you learn here — moulding, casting, painting, finishing, working from a brief, working as part of a fabrication team — are the skills used every day in the industry you want to be part of.
 
WHAT YOU WILL BUILD
Makinarium designed the character. Your group builds it.
 
Working from a full professional character design brief, you and your fellow makers will produce one screen-ready armoured hero — cast from 3D printed masters, painted, detailed, and finished. Pre-supplied components are modified and incorporated into the build.
 
Every decision about finish, texture, and final interpretation is yours. The design is the starting point. What you do with it is the course.

As the days unfold, the build takes shape — and you can see where the group's decisions are taking it. The final day is all about finishing, and that is the day that changes people.
 
The moment the piece comes together, when the paint is down and the detail is in and you step back and look at what your crew made in five days in a real film studio — that is the moment most people in this industry describe as the one that confirmed everything for them.
 
You leave with the skills, the contacts, the experience, and the knowledge that you can do this at the level it is done on screen.
